FASHION FRIDAY: August Edition.

Another month means another fashion edition, but I thought I needed to spice things up a little. As you can see from the title of the post, today is Fashion Friday. The first Friday of every month will be that months fashion edition, and other Fridays will be reviews of new trends or something that has happened in the fashion community that week. It just sounds and feels aesthetically pleasing. Well to me it does anyway. I will also be doing Tuesday Thoughts (as seen in the last post), Music/Movie Mondays and finally Spiritual Sundays! Hope you guys like the series and let me know if there is anything you would like me to write about!

So, August. A weird month here in the UK. The weather is miss unpredictable and with current situations, everything is even more unpredictable. But the one thing that isn't... My guide in transitioning from Summer to Autumn. How exciting.

The first trend looks at us entering the "comfort zone"and looking stylish too. Pairing sweatpants with an oversized blazer and in-trend trainers, you are ready for all parts of the day. It's the easy, and stylish, way to transform from home to the office, just by adding a few staple pieces. Like mentioned in the last fashion month edition, blazers are a go to. In this situation they can elevate a look massively, while hardly any effort has been put in. A win win in my eyes. Adding a unique neckline into the mix will knock that level up even more, ensuring a polished, classic look. The additional layer of a blazer will also guide in the easy transition from Summer to Autumn during the next few months.

Prada's Autumn/Winter 2020 Collection displays the perfect pairing of comfort and class by combining comfort wear in the form of sweatshirts and sweatpants with "smart wear" like crisp shirts and smart trousers.

Talking of layers, another perfect form during this time of the year is cardigans. The versatile knitwear not only adds warmth and comfort, but can also level up a look by a few notches. Looking at Vogues August and September editions, it's all about "Cardigan Central" and "a new age in knitwear." Expect colourful and textured knitwear to be arriving in stores for Autumn/Winter 2020 and , my advice, TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE. These knitwear pieces won't only be your bestie when it's cold, but also in the style department.

This next season is all about glam, glam , glam. Adding sparkle to any outfit is a guaranteed fashion fave. But I understand that that can come off a slightly childish. Looking at glam as not just sparkle will also allow you to ensure a fashion forward outfit. Acting as if your living in the North of France in the late 60s will fit the vibe. Trust me. Linen and floral will add that glam and "expensive" look to an outfit at a low budget. Two places that are guaranteed to supply this look are Nasty Gal and Zara. Personal favourites of mine, they always stick to what's on trend that season, but ensure they always add their own edgy twist to all pieces.

I personally bought the linen blazer from Nasty Gal in black and it is Amazing. The quality of the material gives it that higher end look and it being linen makes it cooler to wear rather than a tradition double breasted blazer during this time of the year. A bonus; it comes a nice range of colours.

Back to the sparkle issue, teaming up a glittered statement piece with simple staples is an automatic win this season in all occasions, and, can be done classy as well as quirky. You choose.

This trend is styled perfectly by Zara as they pair a bold sparkle midi skirt with a simple sheer red bodysuit.

Finally, it could be a time to start venturing down the avenue of the "Investment coat." These are crucial during the Autumn months and having one that is on trend too is also a nice feeling. Padding, bright colours, leather style and tanned tones are what to lookout for, and will be very easy to find when September rolls around. Mixing and matching between different trend areas is also a way to go to ensure you are always hitting those fashion targets.
